Who Is Mr. Poison?
I get this question all the time—”Who is Mr. Poison?”
Mr. Poison is a gambler who places his bets offshore, and through my relationship with his sportsbook, I can track his action. He first came onto my radar in January 2019, when he consistently faded the #FollowTheMoney5 (@VSiNLive, @MitchMossRadio, @paulyhoward, @VSiNjb). At the time, this group was on a hot streak betting NHL 1st Period OVERs on five key teams. Mr. Poison’s strategy of betting against them was intriguing, but I never expected to uncover the greatest fade I’ve ever seen.
After following his 1st Period Total bets for a few weeks, it became clear—he seemed to lose almost every bet he placed! Not 100%, but hitting only 25-30% over an initial 150+ bet sample was something incredible. And it wasn’t just his record—it was the way he lost. Some of his bets were heavy favorites that not only failed to cover but got blown out completely. His results seemed so impossible that people questioned whether he was even real.
To prove it, I tweet out his bets before every game, allowing Twitter to watch the madness unfold in real time. His betting performance is an extreme statistical anomaly, and that’s what makes him so fascinating. I have to admit—it’s been wildly entertaining to watch!
Mr. Poison’s Performance (or lack thereof)…
2019: 41% win rate (meaning a 59% fade success), with 600+ bets.
Worst run: 4-28 during March Madness 2019.
2020: 46% win rate.
2021: More selective, placing only 76 wagers, but surprisingly hit over 58%.
2022: 103 wagers, hitting 51.1% (mainly due to NFL success)
2023: 161 wagers, hitting 47.0% (struggled in NFL)

Another fun twist? Mr. Poison bets games every way possible. For example, in NHL, he might take a team on the 1st period line, puck line, moneyline, and regulation line—all in the same game. If all four lose, it’s a 0-4 performance. Since each bet is separate with distinct possible outcomes, you can follow or fade accordingly.
